Mallorca: Multimodal Ketamine therapy for Depression
Ketamine for depression, anxiety, compulsive behavior, addiction, burnout – Dr. Scheib’s concept
At our practice for psychotherapy and psychosomatic medicine in Mallorca, you will be welcomed by an international team of experienced specialists, psychologists, sports scientists, and physical therapists – most of whom were trained in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
We specialize in individualized, intensive, and multimodal short-term therapies with ketamine for depression, burnout, anxiety disorders, compulsive disorders, addiction / substance dependence, eating disorders and other psychosomatic illnesses in a pleasant and completely discreet environment. We also provide support in the treatment of ADD/ADHD, sleep disorders, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, and cancer. Our concept combines scientifically based treatment with ketamine infusions and complementary procedures such as rTMS, hypnosis, neurofeedback, and intensive psychotherapy to achieve rapid improvement and lasting stabilization.
Why ketamine for depression?
Ketamine is not a new experiment: used as an anesthetic since the 1970s, it has been well researched and is now known as a highly effective treatment option for depression in low doses. For many patients, just one or a small series of infusions leads to a rapid improvement in depressive symptoms—in some cases, suicidal thoughts are reduced very quickly after the infusion. This rapid effect makes ketamine particularly valuable in cases of acute suicidality and severe resistance to therapy.
Our approach: fast, intensive, and sustainable!
• Short-term start of therapy—little waiting time.
When a person is in crisis, they need help immediately. We offer therapy places at very short notice.
• Outpatient, intensive therapies with fast results
At our clinic in Mallorca, we provide inpatient or outpatient care with therapies tailored to your individual schedule. Within a few days or weeks, we achieve a lasting improvement in symptoms through intensive treatment.
• Individualized, multimodal therapy
Therapy must be tailored to the patient’s needs, not the patient to the therapy! We create an individualized therapy plan with our patients. Depending on the patient’s issues, we use various psychotherapeutic methods, ketamine infusions in combination with hypnosis, biofeedback and neurofeedback, pharmacotherapy, and complementary methods.
• High sustainability and satisfaction
We continuously evaluate the results of our treatments. 83% of our patients were very or mostly satisfied with the therapy and found it helpful. Almost all patients would recommend the therapy concept to others.
Our multimodal treatment concept in Palma de Mallorca
We work according to an integrative protocol that embeds ketamine infusions in a comprehensive therapy concept:
- Medically supervised ketamine infusions (individually dosed and medically monitored).
- rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) for targeted modulation of relevant brain areas.
- Hypnosis & psychotherapeutic integration to anchor new insights and behavioral changes.
- Neurofeedback/neurostimulation to specifically utilize the increased neuroplasticity caused by ketamine.
Goal: to prolong the rapid antidepressant effect of ketamine and stabilize the effects of therapy in the long term by combining these procedures. This multimodal approach corresponds to the established concept that is already being successfully applied in our centers.
Safety & evidence
Ketamine is being intensively studied in clinical trials worldwide. In addition to its rapid antidepressant effect, clinical studies show that combining ketamine infusions with psychotherapy and neuromodulatory procedures increases the chance of lasting improvement. We place great emphasis on safety: every treatment is carried out under medical supervision, with standardized monitoring and according to established protocols.
Procedure & duration of treatment
- Initial consultation (by phone/video): medical history, clarification of indications, and information.
- Preparatory psychotherapeutic consultation(s) for treatment integration.
- Ketamine infusion series: usually 3 to a maximum of 8 infusions are performed at intervals of one to two days; some patients achieve longer-lasting effects after just one infusion. During each infusion, vital signs are monitored and therapeutic integration is accompanied.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
Our ketamine depression therapy is particularly aimed at people with:
- severe depressive episodes
- therapy-resistant depression (when classic antidepressants are not sufficiently effective)
- depressive symptoms with acute suicidality (after careful medical consideration).
The indication is always determined on an individual basis and after medical examination. All patients are given comprehensive information (including off-label status in Europe for certain forms of application) and are medically monitored.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Ketamine has been established in anesthesia for decades. In low doses and under medical supervision, the therapy is safe; possible side effects are temporary and are closely monitored in practice.
Many patients report a significant improvement after the first infusion; the lasting effect depends on individual factors and the integration of complementary therapies.
In Europe, certain ketamine applications are off-label; cost coverage is often limited. We will advise you openly on costs and alternatives during the initial consultation.
