The advanced training Ketamine assisted psychotherapy for physicians and psychotherapists from 23.05.2022 – 27.05.2022 will take place in the bebop event location, in Pfuelstraße 5, 10997 Berlin.
Ketamine assisted psychotherapy integrates various psychotherapeutic methods to facilitate new experiences and integrate unprocessed memories. Building blocks of the Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy seminar in Berlin are: Hypnosis, IFS (systemic therapy with inner personality parts), body-oriented techniques as well as theory units on attachment and polyvagal theory and psychotraumatology.
Ketamine has been increasingly used in recent years for the treatment of major depressive disorders as well as anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, but also for (complex) PTSD and addictive disorders. Since ketamine promotes neuroplasticity, it is ideally suited to be combined with other therapeutic procedures.
Our advanced training Ketamine assisted psychotherapy consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In addition to the theoretical background, you will learn the concrete procedure and implementation of a ketamine-assisted psychotherapy session. What needs to be clarified beforehand (indication and contraindication, off-label,…), how the session is prepared, conducted and followed up.
You will have the opportunity to experience the effects yourself, as well as to take on the role of a psychotherapist and accompany a session.
Further contents of the advanced training Ketamine assisted psychotherapy:
Working with altered states of consciousness.
Indication, contraindication, risks and side effects
Importance of set and setting
Ethical guidelines
Attitude of the therapist, transference, countertransference
Attachment theory and relationship between psychotherapist and patient
(complex) PTSD and cognitive and physical processes of processing
Psychohygiene
Hypnosis
IFS (systemic therapy with inner personality parts)
body-oriented techniques, polyvagal theory, touch
The lectures of the advanced training Ketamin in German language will be translated to English.
Continuing education points are requested 40 UE (30 time hours)
An important component of our ketamine-assisted psychotherapy without antidepressants is ketamine infusions. Ketamine leads to a significant improvement in the symptoms of most depressive patients after only a short time.
How does ketamine therapy work?
Suicidal thoughts largely disappear after the first infusion.
Ketamine has practically no lasting side effects.
The substance is completely broken down after a few hours.
However, the effect remains.
Due to the rapid improvement in neuroplasticity (new connections are formed between nerve cells in the brain), patients also become capable of learning again, which improves the results of psychotherapy. In severely depressed patients, this makes psychotherapy possible in the first place.
Two effects of ketamine are exploited: on the one hand, the mind-altering (dissociative) effect during the infusion and, on the other hand, the lasting antidepressant, anxiety-relieving effect.
During the ketamine infusion, patients often experience a change in perception. Memories, emotions, inner conflicts, but also hidden fears may come to the surface. If these are now conscious, they can ideally be processed as part of psychotherapy. The antidepressant effect usually only appears on the following day of the infusion and impresses with an improvement and stabilization of mood.
Ketamine works for varying lengths of time, often only days to weeks. Therefore, several infusions are usually (3 to 6) are usually offered at intervals of a few days.
In the U.S., it has become accepted practice for patients to receive a booster infusion every four weeks. Because of our intensive, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, this is often not necessary with this frequency in our treatment of depression.

Daniel Regalado Castillo
Paramedic | Health care worker | Chaplain Languages: German | English |Spanish
Professional background:
My name is Daniel Regalado Castillo, born in 1992 in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
I have been part of the Red Cross community in Germany since I was 11 years old. It quickly became clear to me that I wanted to work in prehospital emergency medicine as my future profession. I could already acquire there first resources for my later work.
In 2012, I completed my training as a paramedic.
During my training period, I also acquired additional qualifications as a volunteer in the Red Cross community. These include the care of young people as well as my pastoral work, which I was able to expand and develop during my professional career until 2018.
Subsequently, I participated in the vaccination campaign In North Rhine-Westphalia until the end of 2020.
In addition, I was on a vaccination mission with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Africa in 2017, and also helped to expand the supply of drinking water to villages.
During my professional career, I noticed that working with people in mental crisis situations suited me particularly well. And that is why I am very happy to be able to do my work now in the position of manager in a psychological practice.

you will be spared in the future "

"Neue Konzepte haben mich schon immer interessiert. Blicke über den Tellerrand: Wie verstehen andere Kulturen Krankheit und Heilung? Deshalb habe ich immer wieder mit traditionellen Heilweisen in Asien und Südamerika beschäftigt. Ich unterrichte gern. Auch dabei gilt: Wie muss der Stoff aufbereitet und dargeboten werden, damit er fasziniert und im Gedächtnis bleibt."
